Hi (what´s your name?)!
According to your nice and interesting page I have to give a comment to your sentence
"So why is it special?
Although introduced many years ago the Hawk's technology is still up and beyond today's standards. Most notably its aluminium single-sided swingarm, developed by Honda and Elf and more or less copied by Ducati in 1994 on its much revered 916 - the Hawk had one in 1988."
As far as I know, the swing arm is NOT made of aluminium but steel!

I just bought my first bike and it is a '88 Hawk... I've wanted this particular one for several years now and the previous owner finally decided to let her go.

thanks for the helpful info.

Great video. I ran Jaufenpass with one of my best friends two years ago. I would love to get a copy of the vid. Can you provide some contact info? We can work out the details.

Well, I'm only 16, but my dad has a blue hawk that he bought in '88. He made the usual changes to it like tighter front suspension and much lower handlebars. He has told me stories about how he used to ride with younger guys with large displacement crotch rockets. They would take him on the straights but in winding roads he would catch up and fly right by them. I wish I could get a hawk as a first bike but I can barely find any available now. I can only imagine that in later years people will be even less willing to part with them. What a fantastic machine.
